Illegal Parking Beside Dharmawangsa Square Building Controlled

Satpol PP officers held raid against illegal parking beside Dhamarwangsa Square, Jalan Dhamawangsa No. 9, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Thursday (1/15). They managed to remove tire valves of 5 motorcycles, but dozens of others got away when officers arrived.

"We have warned the motorists before, where there is a big banner reads 'parking ban'. But it was still ignored," expressed Head of Pulo Urban Village, Gita Puspita Sar, Thursday (1/15).

Before officers arrived, dozens of motorcycles were parked along Jalan Dhamawangsa. When the owners saw officers, they immediately ran from the Dharmawangsa Square building to move their vehicles. "We ask the building management to inform the motorcyclist in advance to move the vehicle," she stated.

50 Vehicles Netted Every Day in Central Jakarta

After being waited about 30 minutes, as many as 5 motorcycles have not been moved by the owners and had to be controlled. "We remove its tire valves as deterrent effect," she uttered.

Mubarok, (42), one of employees in Dharmawangsa Square building told that the building had a parking lot, but not large. "Unfortunately, the parking lot is already full at noon," he exclaimed.

Besides controlling illegal parking, officers also transport 10 carts belonging street vendors in the Gajah Park.
