Are you a fan of stage musicals? You can attend the Indonesian Musical Festival (FMI) at Ciputra Artpreneur, South Jakarta on Sunday (8/21), at around 3 PM.

There will be musical performances from seven communities in Indonesia, starting from Artswara, EKI Dance Company, FlodanzSoka, Jakarta Movin, Kampus Betawi, Swargaloka, and Teman Production. Each show is 30 minutes long.
The festival, which carries the theme 'Indonesian history', aims to remind the younger generation that Indonesia has a long history of musical art.
Pacific Alliance-Indonesia Film Festival, an Event for International Cultural Exchange through FilmJakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Parekraf) Head Andhika Permata disclosed that the FMI was realized in collaboration with the Directorate of Film, Music, and Media for Kemendikbudristek, and the Indonesian Karmawibhangga Exotic Foundation (EKI)
"This tells about the history of Indonesia that was chosen, namely Tjut Nya' Dien, Ken Dedes, Teka Iku Flores Timur, 9 Sembulu (9 Women of Rembang), Blood Brothers, Sultan Agung, and about Bhinneka Tunggal Ika," he expressed, in a release received by beritajakarta.id.
Aside that, there will also be performances from Gigi Art of Dance, Jakarta Musical Crew, Jakarta Performing Arts Community, ASKARA, and Prima Unggul Foundation. They play on Stage Works or Showcase outside the main performer.
"We also have exhibitions and seminars about Indonesian musicals, including culinary booths for visitors and market booths for the musical community," he explained.
According to him, the arts and music performances were part of the 17 sub-sectors of the creative economy identified by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy as having great potential to be developed.
"Intense and continuous performing arts activities are expected to have a positive impact on the growth of the creative economy. Not only for art performers but also providing overall economic benefits, especially income in the tourism sector," he explained.
By so, it was expected to become an annual music festival of international standard that has a place in the hearts of the people and can compete on the global stage.
