Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan inaugurated the Kampung Susun Kunir (vertical village), Jalan Kemukus No. 2, RT 09/07, Pinangsia Urban Village, Taman Sari Sub-district, West Jakarta, Saturday (9/10).

The Kampung Susun Kunir was intended for 33 families who were ex-Kunir residents who were affected by the control of the inspection road for the Ciliwung tributary in 2015. Then during the construction period, they were housed in a temporary housing around the construction site of Kampung Susun Kunir.
It was part of the integration of the JAHKABITAT program which provides quality and affordable housing for the community through Jakarta Public Housing and Settlement Agency.
Jakarta Public Housing and Settlement Agency Head, Sarjoko revealed that the planning for the structuring of Kampung Kunir was carried out collaboratively with residents through the Community Action Plan (CAP).
"The plan also takes into account the applicable City Spatial Provisions, supports the preservation of cultural heritage, and fulfills the technical rules of building reliability that are environmentally sound and in accordance with the needs of residents as residents," he explained.
The building consists of 1 block, 4 floors, and 1 semi-basement floor, which consists of 33 residential units of 36 m2. Each residential unit consists of a family room, 1 bedroom, multifunctional room, bathroom, kitchen, and balcony.
The Kampung Susun Kunir area is buily on a 860-square-meter wide land, which is part of the land area recorded as an asset of the Taman Sari Sub-district Office covering a 4,963-square-meter wide land.
Besides the good physical quality of the building, the village is supported by complete environmental infrastructure, such as a resident's business room, a multipurpose room/hall that can be used by residents to interact, a community post as an information gathering room and a patrol post, motorbike parking area, green open space, and equipped with the Kunir Gallery as a means of preserving cultural heritage.
Marsha Chairudin, an ex-resident of Kunir Village who has lived for 30 years, expressed his gratitude and happiness for having the opportunity to have a more comfortable and more organized residence.
He hoped that besides comfortable, the house could also provide many benefits and various conveniences in carrying out his work.
"Very happy, this is a moment what I'm waiting for. I and all residents here are very grateful for the presence of Kampung Susun Kunir. Hopefully, all of us who live here will feel more comfortable, given health, and make it easier for us to run all our businesses," he admitted.
Improving the quality of settlements is a priority program for the Jakarta Provincial Government to create a more organized residential environment. This development will continue to be carried out to meet the needs of comfortable and quality housing for all residents.
