DPRD Calls on Residents to Celebrate Christmas and New Year Orderly

The Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) appealed to the public to be wise and comply with applicable regulations in celebrating Christmas and New Year.

Those who want to celebrate are welcome but must comply with the rules

The statement above was conveyed directly by Jakarta DPRD Vice Chairman, Khoirudin and Commission A Member, Khotibi Achyar.

Jakarta DPRD Vice Chairman, Khoirudin reminded Jakarta residents to always maintain safety and comfort. He asked Jakarta Provincial Government officials not to let their guard down and continue to carry out surveillance during Christmas and New Year's Eve.

"For those who have no interests, it's best to take advantage of the momentum at home with family considering that the pandemic is still around us. Especially now that the weather is extreme," he expressed, Saturday (12/24).

He hoped that the public could help the local government in maintaining order, instead of making the euphoria of Christmas and New Year's Eve by makiny new cases of Covid-19.

"During the past two years, our activities were indeed limited. This year, we are given a little freedom, but I hope not to overdo it," he continued.

The legislator also appreciated the steps taken by the Jakarta Government and its staff for implementing anticipatory measures to create a safe, comfortable, and orderly atmosphere for Christmas and New Year celebrations.

The same statement also came from Commission A Member, Khotibi Achyar.

"Those who want to celebrate are welcome but must comply with the rules. Don't let commotion cause bad impacts. Let's work together," he said.
