TMII Limits 60,000 Visitors on New Year's Eve

Ticket purchases are made online. New Year's Eve ticket price is sold at Rp 50,000

The Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) management limits the number of visitors during New Year's Eve celebrations to a maximum of 60,000 people.

Borobudur, Prambanan, and Ratu Boko Temples Tourism Park (TWC) President Director, Edy Setijono said even though TMII was able to accommodate 100,000 people, the number of New Year's Eve visitors had to be limited. It was applied to prevent unwanted things.

Welcoming New Year 2023, City Has Various Events at Some Points

"Ticket purchases are made online. New Year's Eve ticket price is sold at Rp 50,000. We will be open 24 hours," he said, Wednesday (12.28).

He explained that his party would close online ticket purchases if conditions inside TMII were full or there was a buildup.

During the New Year's Eve event, visitor vehicles are also prohibited from traveling around TMII area.

Vehicle visitors are required to park in the parking bag that has been provided. In TMII area, parking lots are prepared at the former Snowbay swimming pool with a capacity of 559 lots of cars, 300 lots of motorbikes, and 28 lots of bicycles.

Besides that, alternative parking is also provided in several locations such as in the Api Pancasila Monument area with a capacity of 159 car parks, 400 lots of car parks behind Tambur, 400 lots of car parks at PP IPTEK, 150 lots of car parks in Chinese area and reserved parking locations to accommodate vehicles in case of a spike in visitors.

Outside the TMII area, parking pockets have also been prepared in collaboration with external parties such as Martial Arts Padepokan, Green Terrace, Pertiwi Purna Bhakti Museum, At Tien Mosque, and so on.

Related to health workers, ambulances, and medical tents are placed at some points. Among them are at North Plaza Parking, in front of North Sulawesi Pavilion, in front of PP IPTEK, in front of the Children's Palace, in front of Sasana Adirasa, and front of Keong Mas Plaza.

On the other hand, firefighters were also alerted at some points, such as the former BNI North Plaza, in front of Maluku Pavilion, in front of North Sulawesi pavilion, in front of PP IPTEK, in front of Kayu Gede Plaza, and front of Keong Mas Plaza.

Meanwhile, portable toilets are provided at North Plaza Parking, in front of North Sumatra pavilion, in front of Maluku pavilion, in front of PP IPTEK, in front of Children's Palace, and front of Keong Mas Plaza.

"Visitors are urged to use public transportation because there are already Transjakarta buses that reach TMII," he uttered.

During the New Year's Eve celebration, TMII and the Provincial Government of Jakarta presented cultural attractions with support from regional pavilions, street musicians, legendary music from Koes Ploes, Angklung Panglak, Calung, Sisingaan, Banyumasan, Barong Blora, gedang kempul music, and so on.

TMII Executive Director, Emilia Eny Utari expressed that as many as 475 joint personnel of national army (TNI), police, Satpol PP, East Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency, and TMII internal security.

"To prevent the buildup of passengers, the fireworks were divided at three points in TMII Archipelago Lake, Gajah Mada Plaza, and Non-Aligned KTT Museum," he explained.

Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Parekraf) Agency Head, Andhika Pemata added that during New Year's Eve, his party would provide entertainment for visitors by presenting a contemporary combination of the bands Mocca, The Bagindas, Fourtwnty, Xstar Band, and Ucupop to Cingkrik Martial Art.

"We offer Cingkrik Martial Art, as it is one of the Betawi cultural heritages. This martial art is displayed in combination with Rebana Biang, which is also one of the Betawi specialties," he stated.
