West Jakarta Continues to Improve Programs for Persons with Disabilities

The West Jakarta Social Sub-agency keeps increasing attention to persons with disabilities, thus they play a greater role in development, especially in the economic sector.

Several priority programs that have been implemented this year are ready to be continued in 2023.

West Jakarta Social Sub-agency Head, Suprapto said among the important programs that have been running so far are training and skills development. By doing so, his party hoped that people with disabilities would be able to compete in improving their respective economies.

This year, the training conducted by the sub-agency has produced results. He cited that training to create podcasts and youtube content for the blind.

"We give training to the deaf and speech impaired in batik, thus they can start a business," he uttered, Thursday (12/29).

After completing the training, his party also conducted monitoring to find out how far the development of skills was progressing.

"Alhamdulillah (Thank God), there are already some who can do business in their respective fields," he added.

Aside that, his party would also continue to increase attention to social pillars in a bid to increase development cooperation. Stimulus funds were given to the RW level, thus various social activities could run well.
