1,641 Tourists Enjoy New Year's Holidays in Seribu Islands

The number of tourists is from December 31, 2022 to January 1, 2023

The Seribu Islands Regency administration has noted that as many as 1,641 local and foreign tourists visited several tourist sites in Seribu Islands on New Year's Eve 2023.

Seribu Islands Tourism and Creative Economy Sub-agency Head, Puji Astuti said that from 1,641 tourists, 1,538 were local and 103 were foreign.

"The number of tourists is from December 31, 2022 to January 1, 2023, either on residential or resort islands," she expressed, Thursday (1/5).

According to him, the tourists came using fast and traditional boats (boat taxis) from Marina Ancol Pier and Kali Adem Muara Angke Pier in North Jakarta, as well as Tanjung Pasir Pier and Cituis Pier in Tangerang.

Seribu Islands Government and People's Welfare Assistant, H Alawi added that the public security for the Christmas and New Year holidays in Seribu Islands area was running safely and smoothly.

Despite the recent weather conditions were not good, services to the public and tourists ran smoothly without any problems.

This condition was due to the good coordination of all stakeholders. One of the examples was when the process of evacuating the traditional KM Titanic boat which had engine failure and a broken rudder in the waters of Bokor Island involved related stakeholders.

As a result, the boat carrying 65 passengers was safely evacuated using the KM KPOP KN Damar and taken to the Tanjung Priok Class 1 PLP base.
