January 2023, 667 Trees in West Jakarta Pruned

The West Jakarta Parks and City Forest Sub-agency has noted that as many as 667 trees have been pruned from January 1 to 24, 2023, which aims to anticipate fallen trees.

This pruning is focused on trees prone to fall and old alongside roads, green belts, and residential areas

"Tree pruning is a routine agenda to anticipate fallen trees when heavy rains accompanied by strong winds," expressed West Jakarta Parks and City Forest Sub-agency Head, Romy Sidharta, Tuesday (1/31).

According to him, those 667 trees consisted of 466 were pruned at light level, 113 were pruned medium level, and 98 were pruned at heavy level.

"Then nine other trees reportedly fell," he stated.

It was carried out to follow up on residents' aspirations and officer monitoring results in eight sub-districts spread across West Jakarta.

"This pruning is focused on trees prone to fall and old alongside roads, green belts, and residential areas," he expressed.

It was also aimed to maintain the beauty of the area and anticipate trees prone to fall due to rain and strong wind," he said.
