20,836 Trees Prone to Fall in East Jakarta Pruned

From January to October, there are 281 cases of fallen trees in East Jakarta

The East Jakarta Parks and City Forest Sub-agency has noted that as many as 20,836 trees prone to fall have been pruned from January to October 2022.

East Jakarta Parks and City Forest Sub-agency Head, Djauhar Arifin said tree pruning keeps being intensified every day in 65 urban villages in a bid to prevent fallen trees and broken branches when it rains with heavy rainfall and strong winds.

January - May, 10,015 Trees in East Jakarta Pruned

"We have deployed personnel from ten sub-districts for quick handling in the field," he said, Wednesday (11/9).

Of 20,836 trees pruned, 6,990 were pruned with light levels, 7,499 were pruned with medium levels, and 6,347 were pruned with heavy levels.

He detailed that in mid-January, there were 1,596 trees pruned, 2,435 in February, 1,657 in March, 1,169 trees in April.

Then 1,844 in May, 2,034 in June, 2,329 in July, 2,504 in August, 2,680 in September, and 2,588 in October.

Besides preventing cases of fallen trees, the pruning was also to increase the brightness of the lighting for public street lights (PJU).

"From January to October, there are 281 cases of fallen trees in East Jakarta," he closed.
