Kelapa and Harapan Islands Residents Receive Food Assistance from Acting Governor Heru

Underprivileged and elderly residents in Kelapa Island and Harapan Island urban villages, North Seribu Islands, received staple food assistance from Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono, Wednesday (3/1).

North Seribu Islands Sub-district Head, Ismail expressed there were 800 packages of staple food assistance, which were distributed equally to the poor, elderly, and families of stunted toddlers. Each of the 400 basic food packages was for Kelapa Island and Harapan Island urban villages.
"This assistance is distributed in stages from island to island. We dedicate it to the poor, the elderly, and families of stunted toddlers," he stated.

"It can lighten their burden in meeting their daily food needs. The urban village has also recorded residents who are entitled to receive this package, so we make sure it is right on target," he asserted.
Jayadi, an elderly (60) from RT 003/RW 002 Kelapa Island admitted that he was grateful to the Jakarta Government and its staff who had provided this assistance. It could minimize the need for the next one month.
"Lastly, during the pandemic, we got help for free. Thank God, now we can get it again," he closed while smiling.
