On that ocassion, he appreciated the smooth implementation of MPLS.
"Today, I went to SMAN 21 and SMPN 99 to see the readiness of new students, from elementary to middle school and from middle to high school. Hopefully, the new students will be more enthusiastic about learning at their new school," he said, in the Jakarta Provincial Government's press release.
Commemorating Islamic New Year, Heru Prompts Jakartans to Improve Work EthicsWhen greeting the new students at the two schools, he reminded students to study hard and develop good character while studying.
"You have been accepted at public schools and have passed the MPLS well. Therefore, hopefully, all children study diligently and have good character," he expressed.
According to him, good character is not only polite, but also students must be able to prevent acts of bullying between students and not be influenced to join in brawls.
"For your better future, there should be no bullying and fighting. If proven, the KJP (Jakarta Smart Card) can be revoked," he asserted.
He also suggested that every day for five minutes, students could come to the front of the class to tell stories about various things. Thereby, students could have the courage to speak in public and build self-confidence.
He also advised school principals and teachers to pay attention to students in their schools, especially the attendance and completeness of school equipment, such as textbooks, thus teaching and learning activities run well.
"I ask for more attention and ensure that all students have received learning tools," he concluded.
