We will be able to build this city to be better
"With a spirit that never tires, we will be able to build this city to be better from time to time," he expressed, while attending the 1 Muharram 1445 Hijri Islamic New Year Event at Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday (7/18).
He revealed the commemoration of the Islamic New Year every 1st of Muharram is a special moment for Muslims around the world, reminiscent of the events of the Prophet Muhammad's migration from Mecca to Medina, which became an important milestone in the history of Muslims.
Acting Governor Heru: Schools Must Reduce Plastic UseHe explained the observations proved that the migration of the Prophet Muhammad was not only in the form of a physical move from Mecca to Medina.
"Following the prophet's figure, at this point in time we emigrate completely, changing mindsets, increasing morale, and continuing efforts, among others, to overcome extreme poverty and stunting, as well as contributing to building the city of Jakarta, thus it continues to be better," he explained.
As an appreciation of these hijrah values, it is important for individuals to increase individual and spiritual piety. It includes increasing the amount and quality of worship and self-development, while increasing social care for others.
He added the process starts from their immediate environment, and if done consistently it will have a positive impact on Jakartans as a whole.
"Let's internalize the spirit of this Islamic New Year within ourselves to improve the quality of our relationship with God and our understanding of the Islamic religion," he stated.
