JaRi: Decision to Extend Heru as Acting Governor is Correct

Jakarta Review (JaRi) Executive Director, Ervan Purwanto said the central government's move to reinstate Heru Budi Hartono as Acting Governor of Jakarta was correct.

During the one year he served as Acting Governor, he stated, many crucial things were done. It was especially regarding the mandate given by President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo to overcome floods, traffic jams, and spatial planning.
"The Ciliwung crossing channel work has been successfully completed. Then, the acceleration of development and integration of mass transportation modes was also realized," he expressed, Monday (10/16).

"By extending Mr. Heru's term of office as Acting Governor, hopefully, everything that has been planned and contained in the APBD 2024 won't changes. Because, usually changing leaders changes policies," he explained.
As Acting Governor, he succeeded in communicating well with the central government. Thus, there was harmony and acceleration in many development programs.
"He is also very serious about poverty alleviation and efforts to overcome stunting. Greening in Jakarta is also being conducted on a massive scale," he furthered.
Aside that, his leadership of the Acting Governor would coincide with the implementation of the democratic party in Indonesia. Thereby, he was expected to be able to synergize with Jakarta Forkompimda in order to create a conducive atmosphere.
"He has proven good cooperation with Forkopimda, thus Jakarta remains conducive, safe, and comfortable. I hope politics can continue to be maintained in this year," he added.
As input, he needed to immediately appoint a definitive Echelon II official, thus work, especially in relation to community services, could be more optimal.
"Currently, several regional apparatus organizations (OPD) have their leaders held as Acting Head. Hopefully, in the near future, it can be filled with definitive officials," he closed.
