December, Sheet Pile Construction in Pekayon Embung Completed

The East Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency is seen building a new sheet pile using grass box materials in the Pekayon Embung (artificial lake), Jalan Raya Pekayon, Pekayon Urban Village, Pasar Rebo.

The work progress has touched 35 percent so far

Development and Drainage Improvement Division Head, Tengku Saugi Zikri stated it is part of the initial process of normalizing the reservoir, which is built on a 1.6-hectare-wide land.

He explained the installation of a 750-meter-long sheet pile with a height of 2.5 meters around the reservoir has been ongoing since July 31 and is targeted for completion on December 12.

"The work progress has touched 35 percent so far," he expressed, Monday (11/13).

As for the sheet pile foundation uses Strauss piles with a depth of three meters with a distance of four meters. The sheet pile is also fitted with columns and sloof with grass box finishing to make it more sturdy.

"We also made six fishing areas around the embung," he explained.

His party was also building a jogging track area on the east side of the embung with a length of 200 meters using stamp concrete materials.

"It is built in stage and will be continued on the west side," he closed.
