162 Trees Planted on Jalan Boulevard Barat Area, Kelapa Gading

"These trees are planted in the PIK area, precisely in Penjaringan Sub-district. Today, there are approximately 50 trees planted here and it will last. It includes Mr. Pangdam Jaya who will also plant the following day," he expressed, as quoted by the Jakarta Provincial Government's press release.

He encouraged all parties to take part in massive greening efforts. The whole community could submit a planting concept to the Jakarta Government and supporting stakeholders would be prepared.

"If possible, they can also participate in planting. The concept can be conveyed, then later the Jakarta Government or other stakeholders will prepare tree seedlings, residents will plant trees together," he explained.

He also emphasized that greening the earth cannot only be done by the government. Community support is much needed.  Considering that Jakarta is entering a transition season, now is the right time to plant trees.

"The rainy season is a suitable time to plant, the water is sufficient," he continued.

On that occasion, Metro Jaya Polda Chief, Ir. Gen. Pol. Karyoto and Irdam Jaya Brig. Gen. Triadi Murwanto, had the opportunity to plant Tabebuya trees at the location.

He added the community could plant other trees, such as fruit, and increase the number of mangroves in coastal areas.

"If residents and stakeholders want to plant, they can plant plants that bear fruit, such as mangoes, rambutans, etc. If it's on the coast, mangroves are suitable. Let's increase and intensify this planting action for a greener Jakarta," he stated.
