Channel Construction on Jalan Lewa Pekayon Completed

The construction of the 489-meter-long water channel on Jalan Lewa RW 10 Pekayon Urban Village, Pasarebo, East Jakarta, finally completed in mid-November 2023.

East Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency's Development Division Head, Tengku Saugi Zikri said the channel built on a densely populated area was aimed to overcome flooding problem.

There were several points that had to be paved with hotmix, returned to their original position, especially at crossings, thus motorists or local residents would feel safe and comfortable.

Hre explained construction at this location is part of the seventh stage. This channel uses a U-Ditch measuring 60 centimeters, 40 centimeters and a 60-centimeter box culvert.

"The work takes 26 days, starting in mid-November," he concluded.
