South Jakarta Appreciates Artworks of Persons with Disabilities

The South Jakarta administration, synergized with South Jakarta Journalists (WJS) and the Griya Filoksenia Creative Foundation to hold an event entitled, Symphony in Limitations at Tebet Eco Park, Tebet, South Jakarta.

This is a work of art for people with disabilities that we must appreciate

People's Welfare Section Head, Khabib Asyngari said his party appreciated this activity as it provided space for people with disabilities to express their work.

"So, this is a work of art for people with disabilities that we must appreciate, thus they won't feel isolated in society in the future," he expressed, Saturday (12/16).

Hopefully, events like this could be held from the urban village, sub-district to city level, thus people will be inspired, imitate, and transmit the positive things that arise from the artistic work of people with disabilities.

"The resulting works of art such as paintings and graphic designs can later be displayed at the same time as regional bazaars," he expressed.

South Jakarta Journalist Chairperson, Roebin Tarigan explained the activity aimed at appreciating children with special needs was held to commemorate International Disability Day.

It exhibits works of painting as well as graphic design from 18 people with disabilities. It also included an inclusive educational talk show and compensation for 20 orphaned children in Tebet sub-district.

"I would like to thank the parties who have worked together well. Hopefully, we can hold activities like this regularly in the future," he stated.
