10,000 People Throng to TMII

Dozens of thousands of visitors crowded the Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) tourist attraction, Cipayung, East Jakarta, Sunday (12/31). They use motorcycles, cars, tourist buses, and other public transportation.

Our target is to attract 50,000 visitors until New Year's Eve

TMII Public Relations Division Head, Novera Mayang expressed that until 11.30 AM, the number of visitors entering through the TMII Gate 1 and 3 had reached more than 10,000 people. Predictably, it will continue to increase considering there will be lots of interesting entertainment being presented from 1 PM to 2 AM this morning.

"Our target is to attract 50,000 visitors until New Year's Eve," she expressed.

Christmas Holidays, TMII Visitors Boom

Her party prepared 37 electric vehicles that run every five minutes to all destinations in the TMII area to help visitors reach several rides or platforms. To prevent long queues, two electric buses with a capacity of 70 seats each were added already.

She explained the TMII provided various entertainment, including fireworks parties, bands, Dangdut Koplo DJs, Cultural Arts Performances, Culinary Festival, and Night Wayang Kulit with Puppeteer Ki Sri Susilo Tengkleng.

Then for children, Hompimpark was also provided, which is an arena for traditional children's games such as egrang (bamboo stilts), bakiak (plank race), and so forth. Then there was a balance bike arena, a painting workshop, and a Night at the Museum.

Further, the regional pavilions at TMII would also enliven New Year's Eve with the Ketoprak Mataram at the Yogyakarta Pavilion. Then also Malay Rhythm entertainment at the Jakarta Pavilion, Bengkulen 'Musik Dholl' at the Bengkulu Pavilion, Ceria Berjaya sa bumi ruai jurai at the Lampung Pavilion, and Malay Music and Dance at the Riau Pavilion.
