The North Jakarta Branch Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) has managed to collect 37,275 blood bags from January to December 2023.

According to Nur Hasanudin, Head of North Jakarta Branch PMI Headquarters, tens of thousands of blood bags were collected from door-to-door service via unit cars carried out at the North Jakarta PMI Blood Donor Unit (UDD), as well as synergy with government officials, education world, private sector, etc.
"We succeeded in exceeding the target of around 36,000 blood bags," he said, Sunday (1/14).

Then 3,329 bags in July, 4,054 in August, 3,493 in September, 3,076 in October, 2,868 in November, and 3,377 in December.
"These blood bags are very helpful in providing a safe and sufficient blood supply for medical needs," he explained.
Aside that, last year, his party also provided social service assistance for disaster management, starting from fire in 132 locations, traffic accidents in 57 locations, and medical alerts 325 times to clean water distribution amounting to 1,050,000 liters in 202 locations.
His party was also active in socializing the Red Cross to the young generation.
"Last year, we did the development of the Youth Red Cross (PMR) to 135 schools for Beginner, Intermediate, and Hero levels, as well as educational tourism for 754 people," he explained.
As for this year's blood bag collection target was still being discussed.
Nur Alifah (24), one of the blood donors from Pegangsaan Dua admitted that she regularly participated in blood donation activities because she wanted to help others. Moreover, it could also be healthy for the body.
"With one bag of blood donated, we can save three human lives," she admitted.
