Many Garbage Processing Machines in Kepulauan Seribu Damaged

Due to only 3 of 11 waste processing machine are functioning in Kepulauan Seribu, the trash seen piling up and need a serious treatment immediately.

If there is an incinerator machine, the trash will no longer accumulate. The trash won't also thrown into the sea because it is not allowed

"The local people were forced to thrown the trash in the back of the island because many of waste processing machine were damaged, such as in the Untung Jawa Island and Pramuka Island," said Kepulauan Seribu Regent, Tri Djoko Sri Margianto, Monday (4/ 6).

According to him, his side had coordinated with Cleanliness Sub-Department to repair the waste processing machine. While one of the garbage-burning machine which is still functioning is located on the Pari Island.

Besides the damaged machine, Kepulauan Seribu also overwhelmed with the amount of garbage in the sea. The trash came from waters in Jakarta that carries through to the island. While waiting for Sub Health to repair the garbage processing machines, his side also doing the handling and distribute the authority between the Sub-Health and urban villages. Moreover, his side planned to install trash can every 10 meters on each island, so the local do not need to accumulate the trash again.
