Seribu Islands Targeted Becoming World-Wide Tourist Destination

The Seribu islands Administration held the Regional Development Planning Forums (Musrenbang) of 2016, Tuesday (4/7).

In 2013, the tourist visiting number reached 1.5 million people. While for 2014 it increases to 3 million people

Musrenbang was attended by Jakarta Governor,  Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, Seribu Islands Regent Tri Djoko Sri Margiantoro, Urban Village, Subdistrict, Regional Working Unit heads, Lembaga Swadaya Masyarakat (LSM) and citizens and it was held in Seribu Islands Regent office which is located in Pramuka Island.

Seribu Islands Regent, Tri Joko Sri Margianto stated, the implementation of 2016 Musrenbang was conducted by participatory planning to realize the Seribu Islands becoming the world-wide tourist destination.

City to Build IPA in Seribu Islands

As simply known the number of domestic or foreign tourists visiting to Seribu Islands keep increasing every year.

"In 2013, the tourist visiting number reached 1,5 million people. While for 2014 it increases to 3 million people. It could be imagined in this year, the number will keep increasing," said Tri Djoko, Tuesday (4/7).

He added, currently his side keep repairing the facilities and infrastructures to sustain tourism sector especially transportation. Because, adequate transportation would increase tourist visiting to Seribu Islands.

"We're asking for minimum standard of community dock in the island. So we hope it could be proposed in 2016," he uttered.

He also requested Jakarta Communications and Transportation Department to renovate all the docks and the channel which can be contacted by ships thus minimum equation requirements could be reached.
