Jakarta Regional Disaster Handling Agency (BPBD) reminds Jakarta and its surrounding residents to be aware of extreme weather from January 29 to February 1, 2024.

The agency head, Isnawa Aji, said the medium-heavy rain will increase because of Asian Monsoon accompanied by the potential for a cold surge, which will influence the increase in wet air masses in the western and southern parts of Indonesia at the equator.
He added that the active Rossby and Kelvin equatorial waves around central Indonesia also trigger the formation of rain clouds.
