Asia-Africa Summit, Thousands of Janitors Prepared

Cleanliness is our focus. Especially for Asia-Africa Summit, we will do it optimally

In welcoming the Asia-Africa Summit, thousands of janitors are deployed to maintain cleanliness and city beauty. The event itself will be held on April 19-26, 2015.

Jakarta Cleanliness Department Head, Saptastri Ediningtyas Kusumadewi said thousands of janitors will be placed in some points. "Cleanliness is our focus. Especially for Asia-Africa Summit, we will do it optimally," she told, Monday (4/13).

No Traffic Diversion When Asia Africa Summit Takes Place

Those janitors will be spread in Halim Perdanakusuma and Soekarno Hatta Airports towards participant hotels, and event places. They are also intensified along Jalan Asia Afrika, Jalan Sudirman towards Semanggi, Jalan Halim Perdana Kususma, Jalan Gatot Subroto, Jalan Satrio, Underpass Dukuh Atas, Land Mark, Jalan MH Thamrin, HI Roundbout, Jalan Cik Di Tiro, Jalan M Yamin, Jalan Teuku Umar, Suropati Park, Jalan Imam Bonjol, Jalan Rasuna Said, Jalan Pejambon, Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur, Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara, Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, Jalan Brawijaya, Jalan Prapanca, Jalan Inskandariyah, and Jalan Tendean.

Besides that, there are also 21 Street Sweeper units which consist of 6 large type with 5,000 liters capacity and 15 small one with 2,500 liters. It is hoped the government would be a good host by keeping the environment from trash.

"If you see people throw trash haphazardly, just remind and warn them. We also plan to hold a raid operation later. Considering the majority of venue and event will be concentrated in Jakarta," he revealed.

At least, there would be four major events that in the event, namely Senior Official Meeting (SOM) on April 19, ministerial meeting on April 10, Asia-Africa Summit on April 22-23, and its commemoration on April 24. It will be staged in Jakarta and Bandung.
