Sunter Reservoir will Be Revitalized

Since Pluit Reservoir has been successfully revitalized, next target is Sunter Reservoir, North Jakarta. Not only for reserving water when the level is high. But, the revitalization is also purposed to keep water infiltration for preservation of the environment.

For the central areas reservoirs which are located in North Jakarta will be revitalized such as Sunter Selatan and sunter Utara Reservoirsunter Utara

North Jakarta Vice Mayor, Wahyu Haryadi stated, his party will propose the revitalization to the City Administration. The proposed programs include North and South sides of the reservoir.

"For the central areas reservoirs which are located in North Jakarta will be revitalized such as Sunter Selatan and sunter Utara Reservoirs," he said, Saturday (4/18).

Kali Mati to Be Converted into Reservoir

In the revitalization, according to him the local citizens possibly will be relocated. Hence, the reservoir function as the water reservoir could be more maximal for flood anticipation in the capital.

"Probably there are some citizens' house are affected by the trace and they will also be relocated," he explained.

While for the program implementation, eventually each of working unit will be coordinated. However, it would be inventoried first.

"To realize it, after it is inventoried in the field, we will send it to the department as its working group," he disclosed.
