It was hoped that this program could reduce accidents and reduce congestion on the mudik route. By so, the Acting Governor, appreciated the BUMN Minister and his staff for holding this activity to help Jakarta residents who want to return home to their hometowns.
"This is very useful in helping people return home safely to their hometowns and for free," expressed the Acting Governor, in the Jakarta Government's press release.

He also reminded travelers to maintain their health during the trip.
"Of course, taking mudik requires patience if you face traffic jams. Once again, the Jakarta Government wishes you a happy return home. May you arrive safely at your respective hometowns," he added.
He also left a message to residents returning home to ensure the safety of their homes while they were away.
"The house must be safe, meaning electricity must be ensured to be safe. Then entrust the house to the urban village head and his staff, Satpol PP, and Police, thus they can protect the environment left by the residents while going home," he added.
Transportation Minister, Budi Karya Sumadi asserted the free mudik program would not only help less fortunate people, but could also reduce the number of travelers riding motorbikes, thus people's safety on the road would be better maintained.
"I'm happy because for five years, the BUMN Minister has contributed to this free program. It means that over the last two years and the number of accidents on the mudik route has decreased, including the number of travelers who use motorbikes. Indeed, it was effective, apart from providing an economic contribution, it also helped traffic safety on the mudik route
BUMN Minister Erick Thohir added this program was possible thanks to cooperation between the BUMN Ministry with 88 BUMNs. The number of mudik travelers taking part in this program was 90,000 people, of whom the largest number of participants was East Java with 30,000 people, followed by Central Java with 25,000 mudik people, Sumatra with more than 5,000 people, and West Java with more than 1,000 people.
"Hooefully, we can continue this program which has been running for five years. Because this is part of BUMN's concern, as is the President's direction for BUMN to be present to alleviate people's needs, especially when purchasing power is declining. Today, we, BUMN, can be here to help people return to their hometowns safely, comfortably and for free," he closed.
