Free Mudik Program Departs 335 Motorbikes through Pulogadung Terminal

Some 335 motorbikes departed for free mudik (exodus) program from Pulogadung Terminal, East Jakarta, Wednesday (4/3). This departure was launched by Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) Head, Syafrin Liputo, Pulogadung Sub-district Head, Syafrudin Chandra, and other related officials.

According to him, the 335 motorbikes were departed using 12 trailer trucks toward Semarang, Kebumen, Solo, Yogyakarta, Wonogiri, and Malang.

"Travelers do not have to ride motorbikes to their hometowns, the distance is quite long and tiring. Surely, this is to reduce the risk of traffic accidents," he expressed.

He added the departure was started promptly at 8 AM and was expected to arrive at its destination tomorrow.

"Tomorrow, the Acting Governor will release 12,160 travelers to 19 destination cities from Monas," he explained.

As for returning flow, the motorbikes will depart on April 13 from six cities with 11 trucks. Then passengers will depart on April 14 from 19 cities with 206 buses.

Pulogadung Terminal Head, Suratman explained all the motorbikes that will take part in this free homecoming have been on standby since last Tuesday (4/2) at 6 AM.

After the vehicle data was re-verified, the motorbike would then be fitted with a sticker as a sign that it had passed verification and for the destination city.

"For safety on the road, all petrol is emptied from the motorbike tank. Then from last night until this morning, the motorbike was loaded onto the truck," he closed.
