"It is held from 8 AM to 12 PM. Our target is 500 bags per day or 1,000 bags for two days," he said, Tuesday (5/28).

He hoped that it could become a routine agenda as a means for residents and employees of the Central Jakarta administration to improve the health of the Indonesian people.

"Hopefully, with the blood donation this time, blood availability in Jakarta, especially in Central Jakarta, can be met," he hoped.

Jakarta PMI Chairperson, Rustam Effendi said that this large mass blood donation program is the first to be implemented by Central Jakarta PMI. It was very good to meet the need for blood stock in Jakarta, which reaches 1,000 to 1,200 bags per day.

He ensured that all blood obtained from donors would be checked to ensure it was free from disease, thus it was ready to be distributed to people in need.

"If any blood is related to a disease, it will be destroyed and the donor will be notified so they can have a health consultation," he stated.
