35,000 South Jakarta Residents Data Do Not Match Domicile

South Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Sub-agency noted based on population administration controlling data, there are 35 thousand residents do not match domicile on ID card.

South Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Sub-agency Head, Nurrahman, said it has been proposed to deactivate 8,112 Population Identification Numbers (NIK) to the Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri).

"Up to May 2024 after NIK deactivation, there are 35,000 South Jakarta residents have moved to Jakarta surrounding such as Bekasi, Depok and Tangerang," he said, Friday (5/31).

He added that the number of South Jakarta residents who have moved domicile is greater than the number of immigrants in South Jakarta, which reached 6,000 people by the end of April 2024 or after last Eid.

During the movement process, he continued, his side has cooperated with outer Jakarta's related agency in Tangerang, Tangerang Selatan, Depok, and Bekasi. The process of changing domicile is quite easy, residents only need to bring the required documents to the urban village.

"The process can be completed in a day only," he stated.
