Bike Track will Be Built on Slow & Fast Lanes

Jakarta Provincial Government plans to build a bike track along protocol road in the capital. The construction that focused on slow and fast lanes is aimed to encourage Jakartans to use bicycle to support their activity.

“The plan will be realized after the mass rapid transit (MRT) project is done,” said Jakarta Governor, Basuki “Ahok” T Purnama after he released the touring team of the Indonesian Bike Committee (KSI) “Fun Bike Sabilulungan 4/2015”, at City Hall, Friday (4/24) morning.

Ahok appreciates the bike community which has promoted bike event. Besides health, it can also parse traffic congestion. “Honestly, I can’t to cycling for a long time, but you guys are so amazing. Like people say the advanced country will usually love cycling,” he uttered.

The former Regent of East Belitung citied one of the advanced country is Japan. In this country, the cycling has become their culture “This is so interesting,” he told.

As known, the bike event route is started from City Hall towards Bandung. They scheduled to pass Jalan Raya Bogor, Jonggol and Cianjur.

It is not the first time event. Previously, similar event had also been held from Jakarta towards Ambarawa with a distance of 690 kilometers.
