Tanah Abang Sub-district Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) Sector Head, Irpan Septian, explained this service is an application that matches death data from TPU (Public Cemetery) with Population data from Tanah Abang Sub-district.
The results of this review are then confirmed to the family through the RT/RW network and then a death certificate is made.
"The main purpose of the PEDATI application is to simplify the death certificate service process for residents," he said.
Irpan hopes that the PEDATI application can help residents with needs that arise from owning a death certificate, such as managing heirs, banking and IPTM (Permit to Use Grave Land).
Apart from that, the product of the application can also be a more accurate source of data for determining policies in development, such as the use of population data for social assistance, education and general elections.
"Around 15 residents from Petamburan and Karet Tengsin Urban Villages have been served through the application since it was launched in early July," he explained.
