Seribu Island Health Sub-agency Head, Murniasih Hutapea, said this is run to succeed Polio National Immunization Week from July 23 to August 17, 2024.

Polio immunization in Seribu Utara Sub-district is targeted to reach 1,799 children and 2,496 children in Seribu Island Sub-district. In first day of immunization on Tuesday (7/23), 2,385 children were given vaccine.
"Our target for second day is 1,285 children, 290 children on third day, and 335 children on fourth day," she added.
According to her, the PIN Polio program is provided to protect children from the threat of Poliomyelitis which can cause paralysis or disability for sufferers.
"I hope all parents will take their children for Polio immunization. Immunization is a simple step, to ensure our children grow and develop well," she continued.
Meanwhile, Seribu Island Regent, Junaedi, stated children's health is the main priority, especially in preparing Indonesia's Golden Generation in 2045.
He asked the sub-district, urban village and other elements to disseminate information about the Polio PIN and ensure that all children have received Polio immunization.
"If we can prevent the spread of Polio, it can certainly reduce the public burden on the country's health and economy. Let's take care of children's health because they are the best investment in our future," he stated.
