May Day, Transjakarta Operate Normally

PT Transjakarta ensured the operational of Transjakarta bus run normally during May Day, Friday (5/1). With one term the operational is situational or depending on condition in the field. It is because around 150,000 labors will stage a massive rallies in the capital. However there are 5 points are predicted become mass concentration such as HI roundabout, Jl MH Thamrin, Monas, Jl Medan Merdeka Barat, and Jl Medan Merdeka Utara.

“The bus operation will be adjusted with its track condition in each corridor,” said the Director of PT Transjakarta, Antonius Kosasih, Thursday (4/30).
Based upon prior experience, there are three corridors which affected the rallies, namely I corridor (Blok M-Kota), II Corridor (Pulogadung-Harmoni), IX Corridor (Pinang Ranti – Pluit), BKTB service (PIK-Monas), Ragunan-Monas Route and PGC-Grogol Route.

Situationally, police will be slow the traffic flow in I corridor. But if mass continue to increase, then service shortening will be applied into Kota- Harmoni and Blok M- Monas route will be closed for a while.
Likewise for express route (Ragunan-Monas) into regular route of VI corridor (Ragunan-Dukuh Atas) will be applied situationally. Similar condition in II corridor (Pulogadung-Harmoni) with the following engineering scheme; Harmoni towards Pulogadung going to be diverted with route Harmoni-kiri-Pecenongan-Juanda-Pasar Baru-Pejambon-Lapangan Banteng-Merdeka Timur-Patung Tani-Kwitang go ahead towards Pulogadung.
While for BKTB service only serve PIK to Harmoni, for IX corridor, start from Pinang Ranti towards Pluit through Cawang toll gate and exit at Slipi toll gate.
There are shelters that not operate during May Day such as Cikoko shelter, Cawang station, Tebet BKPM shelter, Pancoran Tugu shelter, Pancoran Barat shelter, Tegal Parang shelter, Kuningan Barat shelter, Gatsu Jamsostek shelter, Gatsu LIPI shelter, Semanggi shelter, Senayan JCC shelter as well as Slipi shelter.
