Long march buruh

7,000 Labors Move Toward Presidential Palace

Around 7,000 labors from various elements began to stage a long march toward the Presidential Palace, Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara, Central Jakarta, Friday (5/1). Most of them are coming from Pulogadung Industrial Area (KIP)

We strongly demand the government to give more attention to our welfare

A number of labors are from Indonesian Labor Unions (FSPS), Metal, Electronics, and Machinery Labor Union (SP LEM), Indonesian Labor Struggle Federation (FPBI), Indonesia Welfare Labor Confederation (KSBSI), and Indonesia Labor Confederation (KPBI).

Yulianto, (37), a representative of SP LEM said the labors are demanding the government to give more attention to labors' welfare and abolish outsourcing system. "We strongly demand the government to give more attention to our welfare," exclaimed Yulianto, Friday (5/1).

May Day, Transjakarta Operate Normally

While riding motorcycles, at around 8.15 AM, thousands of labors immediately went to the Presidential Palace to join with other labors. They are seen along Jalan Pulogadung, Jalan Raya Bekasi, Jalan Raya Perintis Kemerdekaan, Jalan R Soeprapto (Cempaka Putih) and continued to Presidential Palace.

No wonder, a long traffic congestion cannot be avoided along Jalan Raya Bekasi, especially from Bekasi-Jakarta.
