Electrical Substation Fire on Jalan Benda Raya Extinguished

The fire at the electrical substation located on Jalan Benda Raya, RT 06/04, Cilandak Timur Urban Village, Pasar Minggu Sub-district, South Jakarta has been successfully extinguished.

No casualties and fatalities here

South Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency Head, Syamsul Huda said the fire report was received at 8.57 AM.

"After receiving the report, we immediately worked on five fire trucks with 17 personnel," he expressed, Friday (8/16).

He explained that when they arrived at the location, personnel immediately moved quickly to do the extinguishing process and localize the fire, thus it did not spread to other buildings.

"The electrical substation that caught fire was 6x4 meters in size," he explained.

According to him, the fire was extinguished within 40 minutes. At 9.40 AM, the extinguishing process was declared complete.

"No casualties and fatalities here. It is allegedly caused by electrical short circuit," he explained.

One of the residents, Harpan (53) expressed the smoke that burned down the substation was first noticed by the screams of school children who were nearby.

"I immediately rushed to contact the nearest fire department. Not long after, personnel arrived and swiftly did the extinguishing process," he stated.
