Ahok to Evaluate Jakarnaval

Jakarta Governor, Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama is about to evaluate Jakarnaval event that spent huge money amounted to Rp 8 billion which was initiated by Jakarta Tourism and Culture Department. He was wondering whether the event was effective to attract foreign tourist or not.

That’s the problem, that’s why it must be evaluated

“Indeed the event was success it is proven with there were so many Jakarta outsider citizen visited it. And the question is, did they (foreign tourists) come to Jakarnaval? No one. Whereas that was our target,” he said at City Hall, Monday (6/8).

He wondered how come it spent such fantastic budget. The number is increasing around Rp 500 million compared than last year that spent only Rp 7.5 billion. “That’s the problem, that’s why it must be evaluated,” he expressed.

City Anniversary North Jakarta Gave Free Birth Certificates

Jakarnaval is an event series to welcome city’s anniversary, thus Ahok will consider and evaluate whether the event is to be held or not. “We are still considering it,” he said.

Compared with World Royal Heritage Festival some times ago that spent fantastic budget amounted to Rp 20 billion. With following cost details such as accommodation, transportation, others invited guests stuff  and invited royals from many countries.

“It said that World Royal Heritage spent Rp 20 billion I think that’s make senses if we compared with Fashion and Food Festival in Kelapa Gading that is worth Rp 10 billion,” he disclosed.
