West Jakarta Mayor Confirms Aid Distribution to Whirlwind Victims

West Jakarta Mayor, Uus Kuswanto, ensured that aid for the whirlwind victims on Jalan Walungan Poncol, RT 01/08, Kamal Urban Village, Kalideres Sub-district, has been properly distributed.

During his visit with West Jakarta Social Sub-agency Head, Suprapto, and other officials, Uus also distributed 20 staple food packages to residents whose houses were affected by the whirlwind disaster.

He conveyed that since the natural disaster occurred, his side has coordinated with related parties, including Baznas Bazis and West Jakarta PMI, to help ease the burden of the victims.

"I ask the affected residents to be patient in facing this calamity and to wait for further assistance that we are currently working on," he stated on Tuesday (5/13).

He asked the urban village office to immediately provide accurate data on the damaged houses that require aid so that the aid distribution can be right on target.

"I also encourage residents to show solidarity and support their neighbors affected by the disaster, not only through material aid but also by helping with cleanup and others," he expressed.

Meanwhile, Kamal Urban Village Head, Edi Sukarya, explained that at the beginning of the whirlwind disaster several days ago, his side recorded 20 affected houses, but as of today, there are an additional 27 houses, making a total of 47 affected houses.

"Yes, that's correct, we receive additional reports. From the initially reported 20 affected houses, it has now increased to 47 houses. These range from minor damage such as cracked walls and shifted roofs to severe damage, including collapsed houses and blown-off roofs," he said.

He mentioned that all residents injured in the whirlwind disaster have been treated by the local health center.

"Hopefully, all of our efforts can help ease the burden of those affected by this natural disaster," he stated.
