Polor Dam Needs Dredging

The Polor Dam which located at RT 01, Kembangan Selatan Urban Village, Kembangan, West Jakarta, is strewn with trashes and tree branches. If the dam was not dredged, the water flow would be clogged.

Based on beritajakarta.com observations, the branches and trashes have blocked almost half of waterflow of the dam. It also hampers water flow of Angke River which boils down to Cengkareng Drain and Mookevart Rivers.
Subardi, (41), a resident of RT 08/01, Kembangan Selatan Urban Village stated the branches mixed with trashes that block both of the dam flow have been going for six months.

Kembangan Sub-District Head, Slamet Riyadi claimed there are so many trashes and branches in the dam thus almost block half of the water flow.
"We had cleaned it, but such condition would keep being like that if related unit (Public Works Ministry) which have the authority does not maintain it," he stressed.
He added, his party has reported the matter to West Jakarta Water Management Sub-Department and then coordinated with the authorities.
"We also have reported about the condition of Polor Dam which still not being repaired until now as if it was not repaired, Kembangan Selatan area would be overflowed," he disclosed.
