Pemprov DKI Dorong Transparansi Pengadaan Barang dan Jasa Lewat Forum PPID

Jakarta Pushes for Transparency in Procurement Through PPID Forum

The Jakarta Provincial Government continues to strengthen its commitment to public information transparency. One such effort is the 2025 Coordination Forum for Information and Documentation Management Officers (PPID), officially opened by Jakarta Regional Secretary Marullah Matali on Thursday (7/31).

"Tidak boleh ada lagi informasi yang ditutup-tutupi,"

This hybrid-format forum was attended by around 500 participants and carried out the theme "Transparency in the Jakarta Provincial Government's Goods and Services Procurement to Improve Inclusive and Participatory Public Information Services".

In his remarks, Marullah stated that public information transparency is a necessity in today's era.

"Transparency has become a national commitment. There should be no more information being concealed," he said.

However, he emphasized that transparency does not mean disclosing all information without limits. Certain data, such as personal information or state secrets, must be ethically and legally protected.

"The transparency we mean is openness within allowable boundaries," he asserted.

He also highlighted the importance of transparency in the procurement process within the city government. Every stage, from announcement, specification, to the selection of providers, must be clear and easily accessible to the public.

Marullah believes these efforts will help eliminate speculation and lack of transparency.

"If this is carried out properly, there will be no more whispers or hidden information," he added.

He also referenced the PJLP recruitment as a model of transparency, noting that its openness has led to high levels of interest from applicants. This surge of participation demonstrates rising trust from the public in Jakarta's transparency efforts.

Meanwhile, Head of Jakarta Communication, Informaticcs, and Statistics Agency (Diskominfotik) said the forum serves as a platform for consolidation and coordination among PPID units across regional working units and regional-owned enterprises (BUMD). It's goal is to strengthen the role of PPID as the frontline in delivering public information services.

Budi also reported that the city government is currently selecting new members of Jakarta Information Commission (KI), replacing commissioners whose terms are ending.

"We hope the selection yields individual who are credible, reliable, and attentive to the public's information demands," he expressed.

According to him, challenges in public information disclosure still exist, one of which related to demands from certain NGOs for access to information that falls under exempted categories.

Although, he stressed that education and socialization on the limits of accessible information must continue to be strengthened.

"This forum provides a space for participants to engage in discussion, share experiences, offer inputs and consultations to realize better and more optimal public information in Jakarta," he explained.
