Until June, 1,918 Vehicles in East Jakarta Controlled

As a strategy to enforce traffic order, the East Jakarta Administration keeps intensifying illegal parking raid in East Jakarta. No wonder, the ranks of East Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department managed to control 1,918 vehicles.

“Until this June 30, we had towed 654 four-wheel vehicles and removed tire valves of 756 cars and 508 motorcycles,” said Head of East Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department, Bernard Octavianus, Wednesday (7/1).

Illegal Parking Along Jalan Matraman Raya Still Rampant

Octavianus stated those controlled vehicles were controlled in Rawamangun, Matraman and Jatinegara. Generally, they parked in the front of school and market.

“Every day, we can tow between 6-11 four-wheel vehicles,” he uttered.

He admitted, the enforcement of traffic order and discipline towards motorists is not an easy matter. However, his side will remain take stern action in accordance with the existing regulation against illegal parking actors.

“We have done socialization and installed banners and signs. So, there is no other way to enforce the law, besides stern action. All already have existing procedures,” he disclosed.
