City Gears Up to Build Floating Market in Setu Babakan

We'll adopt the concept for trader arrangement in Setu Babakan,” she said, Wednesday (7/29).
She described that the group of the comparative study consists of 24 representatives. They are Jakarta Cooperatives, Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises and Trade Department, Water Management Department, Bina Marga Department, Parks and Cemetery Department, Law Bureau of Tourism and Culture Department, Jakarta Industry and Energy Department and Betawi Cultural Institutions of Setu Babakan.
"The study itself is led by Mrs. Silvi over Jakarta Governor's instruction to visit the floating market in Lembang area to be applied in Setu Babakan," she exclaimed.
Indrastuti uttered each representative of comparative study team asked to review and study the concept of floating market in Lembang. The group also had dialogue and discussion about cooperation with the private sector. “We review all, for instance the Asset and Financial Management Body (BPKAD) party with the contract matter and Tourism and Culture Department with the tourism development,” she uttered.

“Later on, they just do presentation in front of Mr. Governor in the executive meeting, and then evaluated, whether they capable to make floating market or not,” he told.
She furthered the verification process towards the traders in Setu Babakan was done. As recorded, the number of traders are reaching 415 traders selling Betawian food culinary, like Kerak Telor (a traditional Betawi omelet made of duck eggs and rice), Pancong and Gado-gado (mixed vegetable dishes with peanut sauce).
“All verified traders will be arranged with floating market concept. Culturally, they more manageable rather than traders in Monas, whereas they already have their own cooperative,” he disclosed.
