Rejuvenation of Kopaja S66 Takes 6 Months

(RIZKI) The rejuvenation of Kopaja S66 from medium to big size bus will take place in six months ahead. Ther armada which serves route Manggarai - Blok M becomes the rejuvenation role model. The MoU has been signed with Jakarta Provincial Government.

Emmanuel Kristianto, Jakarta Head Dept. of Transportation for Land Transportation Board, admitted the Kopaja management asked six months to rejuvenate its armada due to need big budget.
"We give them what they ask, that is six months spare time," he said, Tuesday (9/29).
Beautified Kopaja & Metro Mini, City Launches 60 BusesAccording to him, the rejuvenation of transport in Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) lane is a must. Since the beginning of 2015, the city administration has planned this rejuvenation, and Kopaja S66 as the role model.
"The implementation needs a law base because it related with citizen's culture change," he added.
The rejuvenation must be based on road projection which is arranged in Bylaw No. 5/2014 about Transportation. It means not all bus must be changed into big size, but change the setoran (sum of money) system into rupiah per kilometer.
"Blok M - Manggarai route passes main lane with big bus," he continued.
Kopaja S66 has 80 units of medium bus size. 40 units of them will be replaced with big size bus.
"Those 80 units can not be operated again. It's up to the owner, mutated, scrapped, whatever," he disclosed.
