His department has taken a policy for limiting operational of orange bajaj. Currently, those bajajs can only operate in the predetermined zone. His department will not expand or add its operational zone in Jakarta. "At this time, 5 areas in Jakarta have each bajaj operational zone and will not be expanded," he asserted.
Benjamin claimed, it is a step of rejuvenation. His party has changed regulation related to the ownership of those three-wheeled public transportation. If it is previously based on the quota and must go through cooperative or limited liability company (PT), but this time it does not need to. Thus the bajaj owners could be attracted to conduct rejuvenation.
Besides simplifying individual who wants to have or business of bajaj transportation, the new regulation also removes monopoly practice in a PT or cooperative as before. It is related to the blue bajaj ownership in accordance to Government Regulation No. 73/2014 on Motor Vehicles Rejuvenation. The regulations is used as legal protection for changing regulation of bajaj that formerly rejuvenation must go through a tender in cooperative.
The old rules use the Law No.22/2019 on Traffic and Road Transportation (LLAJ), where each transportation rejuvenation must go through tender in cooperative. At this time, the regulation is simplified using Government Regulation No. 73/2014.
