PJU Procurement 2016 Budget for PE Dept Cut

Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama observed the budget proposal for purchasing street lights in Jakarta Industry and Energy Department on the General Policy for City Budget Priorities and the Tentative Budget Platform (KUA-PPAS) 2016.

I think the department is also doing crazy. They even could install street lights for almost Rp 300 billion

"I think the department is also doing crazy. They even could install street lights for almost Rp 300 billion," he expressed at City Hall, Sunday (11/22).

Not only the department , he continued, but also the sub-department that proposed the budget between Rp 30-40 billion. Likewise the budget for paying the usage of the lights power to State-Owned Electricity Company (PLN) that is up to Rp 600 billion a year.

Basuki Sweeping KUA-PPAS 2016, Could Save Budget Rp 1 Trillion

"Therefore if all the lights are replaced with Light Emitting Diode (LED) , it will just use electricity below Rp 200 billion," he said.

He told that the budget which is considered too high is finally eliminated."Why is it not merged to be replaced the LED ones that could be for 3 cities. So i asked them why didn't they do that?  Then i cut it," he explained.

Besides, he also questioned street light's utility network installation which is untidy and making congestion on some roads. One of them is in front of Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) that complained by many residents.

"I told them to find the clear contractor. The document probably exist yet the modal is unclear," he asserted.
