Sri Hartini, Principal of Elementary School (SDN) Makasar 09 Petang, was officially demoted from her post by East Jakarta Education Sub-Department, Saturday (5/17). The demotion is related to the bullying case committed by SY (16), a 6th grader against Renggo Khadafi (11), a 5th grader, in the classroom during rest hours. Hartini was asked to responsible on this case due to neglect, causing one of her students died.

Head of East Jakarta Primary Education Sub-Department, Nasrudin disclosed demotion letter was directly signed by Lasro Marbun, Head of Education Department, on May 16, 2014. Afterwards, the letter then submitted to Hartini at SDN Makasar 09 Petang on Saturday (5/17).

"To replace Hartini, we pointed Daryati, as Acting Head of SDN Makasar 09 Petang. All this time, she serves as the principal of SDN Makasar 08 Pagi," he told, Saturday (5/17).

Yet he cannot be sure when Daryati to serve as Acting Head of SDN Makasar 09 Petang, because this is authority of the Education Department to hold a meeting of city's ranking and post supervisory board (Baperjakat), to determine the principal definitive. 

Hartini will then become a regular teacher at SDN 11 Kebon Pala, Makasar, East Jakarta. This is a decision that cannot be contested from Education Department.

"We also give sanction to 5th, 6th-grade, and picket teachers during the incident. The must also responsible for the case. But it is still being discussed, considering the decision lies in Jakarta Education Department," continued  Nasrudin.

To anticipate similar case in future, all schools were instructed to tighten surveillance system. At least, there will be picket teachers who supervise students during rest hours at school..
