18,000 chili trees will be planted in Ciangir, South Tangerang. It is aimed to overcome the fluctuative chili price, especially due to low supply.

Jakarta Economic Bureau Head, Sri Haryati disclosed, in the near future, Jakarta Food Security, Maritime and Agriculture Dept will soon plant chili on a 1-hectare land.

The land itself belongs to Jakarta Provincial Government. Before being used for other needs, it is firstly used for agriculture. Moreover, chili supply to Jakarta is low and impact on price hike.
"Red chili pepper price has hit Rp 150,000 per kg. If our way is success, it will add more supplies," she stressed.
Another way is by involving the residents where every family given four of chili trees to be planted.
"In Central Jakarta for instance, one tree managed to produce between 600-800 chili peppers. This is very passable," she closed.
