18,000 Chili Trees in Ciangir Planted

The chili tree plantation on a one-hectare land in Ciangir, Tangerang conducted by Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Dept. has been started.

"Chili plantation has been conducted since yesterday (2/2), and we've embedded around 18,000 trees. As the initial stage, we'll plant 40,000 trees on a land as wide as 2.5 hectares," disclosed Darjamuni, Head of Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Dept., Thursday (2/2).
His dept. will plant chili every month on the 2.5-hectare land. "We will do it every month, precisely for 13 months thus we can harvest once a month. In overall, it will be planted on the 30-hectare land," he expressed.
BUMD Role Need to Be Optimalized for Stabilizing Chili PriceIn the initial stage, it is predicted can harvest after four months ahead. By doing this, we could harvest between 431-530 tons during harvest season.
"This chili can harvest four months ahead, indeed it is not yet enough for Jakarta. The important thing we have tried," he finished.
