PNS’ Official Cars Withdrawn, Exchanged with Transportation Allowance

Jakarta Provincial Government is going to transportation allowance, excludes regional performance allowance, to the civil servants. But in return, civil servants’ official cars will be withdrawn.

We have prepared firm sanction to those who are still looking for extra money, more particularly by asking to the residents who look for services

“This regulation has been signed by Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo and I,” stated City Secretary Saefullah, Friday (8/8).

According to Saefullah, the civil servants have options to whether go with it or not. If they chose transportation allowance, their official cars will be withdrawn. But if they preferred using official cars more, they will not get the transportation allowance.

Bad Performance, CPNS will Be Dismissed

The amount of transportation allowance given to the civil servants is varied. For echelon IV officials like section heads, sub-division heads, and urban village heads, they will receive Rp 4.5 million per month. For echelon III officials that include division heads, sub-district heads, and sub-department heads, their transportation allowance is Rp 7.5 million per month. For echelon II officials in the level of department heads, bureau heads, and mayors, they will get Rp 12 million per month. As for regular civil servants with no position, their transportation allowance will be adjusted in accordance to their ranks and classes. This policy goes in line with sanction to civil servants who are not serious in serving the people.

“We have prepared firm sanction to those who are still looking for extra money, more particularly by asking to the residents who look for services. In the future, there will be no more civil servants pressing or blackmailing the residents or they will be charged criminally,” asserted Saefullah.

With this policy, there will be no more official car procurement. And with that, Jakarta Provincial Government saves money from official cars maintenance.
