2,338 Sacrificial Animals in West Jakarta Passed Health Tests

Ahead of Eid ul Adha 1435 Hijri, West Jakarta Livestock and Fishery Sub-Department has conducted health tests to 2,338 sacrificial animals to ensure they are safe for consumption.

According to Head of West Jakarta Livestock and Fishery Sub-Department, Eviaty, since a week ago her sub-department has sent 22 officers to examine sacrificial animals’ health in eight sub-districts in the municipality. The health tests will continue to be done until Eid ul Adha on upcoming Sunday (10/5).
“We examined 2,338 sacrificial animals from 42 sacrificial animal sale locations. The procedures include taking blood samples of the animals, examining anus, eyes, et cetera. As a result, we conclude those sacrificial animals are in good condition and healthy,” she stated, Thursday (10/2).
Cakung, Center of Sacrificial Animal PeddlersThe 2,338 sacrificial animals examined consist of 1,225 goats, 226 lambs, 870 cows, and 17 buffalos. They were sent from Central Java, East Java, East Nusa Tenggara, and West Nusa Tenggara.
