City Prepares 1,250 Sacrificial Meat Coupons

Jakarta Provincial Government has prepared 1,250 sacrificial meat coupons that will be distributed to the needy during the Eid ul Adha 1435 Hijri which falls tomorrow, Sunday (10/5). The sacrificial meat is donations from Jakarta officials, including Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo who sacrificed one cow.

Jakarta Indonesian Civil Servants Corp Secretary, Sugeng, said that until yesterday, Friday (10/3), his party received 18 cows and 24 goats for sacrifice. Those animals will be slaughtered at PD Dharma Jaya Animal Slaughterhouse (RPH) in Cakung, East Jakarta.

“We prepare 1,250 coupons. We’re still receiving sacrificial animal until this afternoon. Based on temporary data, we already have 18 cows and 24 goats,” he stated, Saturday (10/4).

According to Sugeng, the coupons to be spread are divided into 750 coupons for non-organic employees at City hall and 500 coupons for Kebon Sirih Urban Village residents. Moreover, his party will also donate some sacrificial animals to religious institutions and civil society. As for the weight of meat distributed, each sacrificial meat receiver will get about 1.5-2 kilograms of meat.

“We’ll also distribute the meat to parlors in Jakarta,” he told.
