Progress of MRT Jakarta Phase 2A Construction Reaches 8.157 Percent

The progress of MRT Jakarta construction for phase 2A Segment 1 (Thamrin - Monas) has reached 8.157 percent. Its construction is targeted to be completed in March 2025.

"MRT Jakarta Phase 2A Segment 1 Thamrin - Monas is targeted to complete in March 2025, from railway system, track, to train operations," stated William Sabandar, President Director of PT. MRT Jakarta (Perseroda), on Thursday (10/1).

Its physical work progress was consisted of tree relocation, traffic engineering, dismantling Bank Indonesia JPO, and others.

MRT Jakarta Encourages Collaboration with MSMEs

He assessed, MRT Jakarta Phase 2 has an important value in restoring national economy due to COVID-19 pandemic.

"We are still on schedule, no delays and still on target even though we are currently in the midst of pandemic. The Rp 1.5 trillion which absorbed in this year will help government for recovering national economy because of employment and expertise absorption, construction equipment purchase, and infrastructure development," he mentioned.

Unlike segment 1, he continued, the segment 2 for phase 2A has a few obstacles due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Until now, PT. MRT Jakarta continues to negotiate and hopes for Japanese government's support in encouraging Japanese contractors to participate in segment 2 thus they can dedicate their efforts to enter this package thus the procurement process can run well.
